Seonaid Aitken Trio ft Conor Smith

Award-winning violinist and BBC broadcaster Seonaid Aitken presents a heartfelt and high-energy tribute to her musical hero, Stéphane Grappelli – the legendary French jazz violinist and co-founder of the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Renowned for her virtuosic playing and charisma on stage, Seonaid has performed with former Grappelli collaborator Martin Taylor MBE, and now teaches at the prestigious Grappelli-Django Camp in the Netherlands.

In this special show, she is joined by celebrated Scottish jazz guitarist Conor Smith, her bandmate from the award-winning gypsy jazz group Rose Room. Together, they will swing through Grappelli’s rich repertoire – from foot-tapping classics like Sweet Georgia Brown to soulful ballads like Ol’ Man River – showcasing music from his pioneering Hot Club days, his solo career, and his elegant duets with Classical icon Yehudi Menuhin.

Expect a night of dazzling musicianship, infectious rhythms, and joyful homage to one of jazz’s true greats.
